Aloha, Every one  I just wanted to share with you some of the beautiful and very talented local  and extremely talented artisians from my home town in Hilo ,Hawaii.  First the top  picture is one of the famous ;

Waikiki  Beach with Diamond Head  Mountain in the background illuminating the sky is  the island of O'ahu isn't it  a beautiful scene...this is where the states capital is located.

The next photo is a  basket of Sig Zane's House Slippers He is one of our islands most dignified artists has been designing for years all sorts  of designs from clothing lines to furniture and tectixlies, handbags, wallets and so much more .The Artist in his own right has not and cannot do or has done.  He has  website SigZane.com so go shop there a get a beautiful piece of our island's well known artist  for yourself and loved ones.

Third photo is of a Green mango peeled and in a bowl of Shoyu Sauce (Soy Sacuce), Vinegar and Sugar, Yummy to all of we islanders  young and old, We love to have this on a hot summers day  or actually anytime we can get some green mango if they are in season.

The last two photo's comes from an  Phtographer that I have just become to know of his name is on the photo itself please respect it  Mr. Tom Kualii .  His timing and articulate eye has just taken my breath away really he has captured the essence and the many  rare beautoes of our island we call home Hawa'ii Island.  Please look for his website or look for  him on facebook too he has so much aloha this man and a loving spirit.

Back To School Beauty

     School will be in High Gear tomorrow beginning from 7:oo a.m till 2:30 p.m.for many elementary school thru Junior high and High School Students.

They drove their parents crazy  gathering their abundant school lists as well as their school clothes for those who did not have to wear school uniform shirts this year.

All the school supplies had to be individually labelled and packed up for tomorrow and  all one way traffic will be specifically planned for parents and car pooling if necessary.  Those were the days when I had to do that too and I am so  glad those days are over and done with  for me now.

I too will be attending my last year of college and graduating this coming spring 2015.  All I need to take is my open mind and brains to class in the up coming two weeks.  Seems easy enough to do...All the rest is a piece of cake!

Now getting to the Beauty of it all is the part that we don't need  to haul a large school supply bag around with  us when attending college , all we do need to be sure to take is a parking pass for our vehicles not to get towed away and  a good writing pad to take notes on and an Ipad if you are fortunate to have one  (which I am) that way it eliminates taking a pen and note book I just apply everything to the Ipad and download it to my printer when I get home if need be, technology makes college life so easy these days.

I'll be sure to  take a lot of photos the first day of everything to post on this  blog right on down to the funky ways students will be rocking their hair and fashions this fall. Hope you all will comment on them too or even write  to me and ask me questions about what you might want to see  from the University of Hawaii at Hilo Campus and I'll do my best to hook you up!
